Approximately 30,000 bonbori adorn the charming streets of Onomichi. Please enjoy walking around on an autumn night.

Onomichi, which has developed as a port town, has built many temples due to donations from wealthy merchants. There are many nightlights (lights) on the road from the seaside to each temple, and it is said that they were a landmark for the Kitamaebune entering the port.
The “Onomichi Light Festival” recreates the foundation of Onomichi's prosperity in the present day, and aims to experience the warmth of the “healing town of Onomichi” through faintly lit bonbori.
Why don't you experience a special night in Onomichi, decorated with bonbori depicting dreams and wishes for the future by kindergarten children at childcare/education facilities in the city and elementary and middle school children and students.

Approximately 30,000 lights are lit on the approach and grounds leading from the Gangi trees facing the
Onomichi Channel to the temples nestled in the middle of the Onomichi Sanzan Mountains, creating the atmosphere of a nightlight once marked by Kitamae Ships. Also, to coincide with the festival, there will also be a “Temple Treasure Exhibition” and live shows that show temple treasures that you can't usually see.
