This mountain is 408m above sea level and is located in the center of Kurahashi Island, the southernmost point of Hiroshima Prefecture. Long ago, this mountain was a key point for ships in the Seto Inland Sea, and a fire was lit at the summit, which served as a lighthouse, hence the name "Hiyama (Volcano)." There is a large rock at the top, and standing on top of it offers a 360-degree view, making it a spectacular spot where you can see the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea as well as the mountains of the Shikoku Mountains in the distance.
