Located in Yuki Town, this gorge is one of the most famous in the Setouchi area! Walk along the 8km route
Located in Yukicho, Saeki Ward, Hiroshima City, this gorge boasts one of the largest scales on the Seto Inland Sea side. Stretching approximately 8km from north to south, the gorge is home to a unique geological landscape formed by the erosion of granite over many years. The "Byobuiwa" (folding screen rock) and "Bat Rock" (bat rock), towering along the riverbank, reach heights of 30-40m, offering a close-up look at the continuous chain of giant rocks. The area has also been designated a Hiroshima Prefecture Nature Conservation Area, preserving a rich ecosystem. The clear streams are home to amago trout, and serve as a breeding ground for Rhacophorus arvensis, Kajika frogs, and numerous other aquatic insects. The surrounding walking trails offer a leisurely stroll, allowing visitors to enjoy the changing scenery with each season, from the fresh greenery of spring to the vibrant autumn foliage. Autumn is a particularly noteworthy time, as the contrast between the white rocks and the reds and yellows of the surrounding landscapes is striking. This scenic spot, representing the Yuki area, offers a tranquil setting for nature observation and forest bathing.
