A monument to the birthplace of Rokkaku Shisui, who made great achievements in the world of lacquer crafts

A stone monument built on the site of Rokkaku Shisui's birthplace. Rokkaku Shisui (1866-1950) was a lacquer craftsman who was active throughout the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, and was a leading figure in the lacquer craft world. In addition to his production activities, he has made brilliant achievements in the development of colored lacquer, and in the restoration of the main hall of Chusonji Temple and Itsukushima Shrine. Kirin Brewery's Kirin design is his design.
