This shrine is believed to have been enshrined here for thousands of years, and is considered the patriarchal deity of the island. After climbing 108 stone steps, you can see the worship hall surrounded by forest in front of the stone torii gate, and from the forest road near Etajima Shrine, you can see the entire view of the former Naval Academy. In addition, Furutaka Shrine (formerly Otaka Shrine) is enshrined in the precincts.
