Locally, it is affectionately known as the "Bell of Awakening" or the "Bell Tower." In 1922, upon hearing that the local veterans' association was advocating for strict punctuality, 15 people from Shiwahori Village who were living in the United States donated an American-made bell. In response, the local community constructed a 7.8-meter-tall bell tower on a stone-built platform.

Currently, a siren is installed on the second floor, and it continues to tell the time to the local people. It is registered as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
