This is a Shingon Buddhist temple called Kankizan. According to the historical picture scroll handed down at the temple, it was founded during the Tenkei era (938-947) by Fujiwara Tomozane, who traveled to Aki Province to pursue and defeat Fujiwara no Sumitomo. The main hall that remains today is one of the few ancient buildings in the Aki region that retains the style of the Warring States period, and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Hiroshima Prefecture.
