Along with salt, sake is another representative feature of Takehara. Takehara's famous sake, known as Aki no Konada, is brewed using a method called "Morohaku sake," and full-scale sake brewing began in the Kanbun era (around 1670). The stonework of this well is inscribed with the date Tenpo 3 (1683), and it appears that the well has been used for sake brewing since ancient times.
