Introducing the tradition and history of Kumano, the city of brushes
Kumano Town Local Museum is a facility that introduces the traditions and history of Kumano Town, the city of brushes, which reigns as the number one brush-producing region in Japan. The building was inherited from a sake brewery in the early Taisho era, and inside it a Taisho era brush wholesaler has been recreated, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of those times. In addition, there are many exhibits that allow visitors to learn more about Kumano Town, the city of brushes, including archaeological materials that mark the history of Kumano Town, nostalgic tools for production and daily life from the past, and various Kumano brushes.
