The beauty of Seto's skerry coast that spreads out below you
Takamiyama is 283 meters above sea level, and from the summit, the view opens up in all directions, overlooking the Shikoku Mountains and the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea. It is a national park. It is also known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and sunsets, and is also a great birdwatching spot, with dozens of hawks flying in from October to November. If you head towards Takamiyama Observatory from the Takamiyama Tachibana Nature Village Trailhead on Tachibana Beach on the south side of Mukojima, you will find a nature trail called Seto no Utamichi, and 22 stone monuments dotted along the path are engraved with poems by famous haiku poets and writers.
