This three-story pagoda was built in 1432 by Kobayakawa Nobumoto and Nobumasa, the feudal lords of Ikuchijima at the time, and is a designated national treasure. Its striking, vibrant vermilion exterior, a mix of Japanese and Chinese styles, is counted among the most beautiful structures built in the early Muromachi period.
