Kuroshima, located 1.9 km off the coast of Sunset Beach, is located in Nakamachi, Ikuchi Island, Hiroshima Prefecture and Omishima Island, Ehime Prefecture, and is an uninhabited island that crosses the prefectural border between Hiroshima and Ehime from east to west in the center of the island. Kuroshima is called "Gourd Island" because it resembles a gourd when viewed from Setoda Town.
