Gennai Hiraga, a scholar of Dutch studies from the Takamatsu domain, once lodged at the Mizokawa family in Tomo during his travels around the country. At this time, it is said that he left after telling him how to make Gennai ware and leaving the god of soil, the god of the furnace, and the Hiraga Gennai Daimyojin to be enshrined as the Sanpokojin.
