The gorge sandwiched between Mt. Koba and Mt. Hikasa, where the ruins of the castle that was once the base of Bingo remain, is now popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot.

Kannabe Castle is said to have been built around 1335 by Asayama Jirozaemonnojo Kagetsura, who was appointed as the Bingo Shugoshoku (military governor) on Mount Oba, which overlooks the Kannabe Plain. It served as a base for Bingo for 300 years, but when Mizuno Katsunari, a Tokugawa retainer, built Fukuyama Castle to govern Bingo and entered the castle in 1622, Kannabe Castle was demolished in response to the issuance of the One Castle per Province Order. Today, the gorge area between Mount Oba and Mount Hikasa is Yoshinoyama Park, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot and a place of relaxation for townspeople.
