This shrine, located near the Jinsekikogen Town Hall, is said to have been founded in 1065. It is said to have begun when a branch of the spirit of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, one of the three major Hachimangu shrines in Japan, was enshrined at the main shrine from Yamashiro Province (now Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture). The main shrine is the largest of its kind in the county, and within the grounds there is a "hemlock tree" designated as a natural monument by Hiroshima Prefecture, and a "fir tree" designated as a natural monument by Jinsekikogen Town. In addition, one votive plaque and one iron lantern have been designated as important cultural properties by Jinsekikogen Town.
