A gorge with a total length of about 7 km, which was not well known until recently
The varied gorge of the Takiyama River and the excellent flora combine to form a good natural environment, and the area was designated a Hiroshima Prefecture Nature Conservation Area in 1978. The gorge has a pronounced meander, and 30-50 meter rock walls and rock towers can be seen everywhere on both banks, giving it great value as a gorge. The surrounding area is covered with widespread natural forests of Japanese oak and other trees, preserving a rare landscape, and has long been known as a scenic spot upstream of the Ota River. Okutakiyama Gorge is a gorge that stretches for a total length of about 7 kilometers. The gentle paths and scenery created by pools and rocky areas make this a gorge that is easy to stroll through.
