A prefectural natural monument. There is a government office branch in Kototani, Kitahiroshima-cho, and there is an independent Asunaro tree on a west-facing hill about 300m to the east. Asunaro is an evergreen coniferous tall tree of the Cupressaceae family, whose etymology is derived from the phrase "Tomorrow, let's become a cypress." Asunaro in Tsushimi was planted, but the age of the tree is estimated to be about 250 years, taking into consideration the harsh growing environment. Tree height about 19m, trunk circumference 2.8m.
