The starting point of the Shimanami Kaido on the Honshu side
A cable-stayed bridge with a total length of about 546m that connects Onomichi and Mukaishima. It opened in May 1999 as a toll-only bridge for automobiles. Along with the twin bridges parallel to the 55m point on the east side, it is the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido on the Honshu side. It is lit up on weekends, and a beautiful sight emerges in the Onomichi Channel.
