This is a representative merchant house located within a preserved townscape district. Its imposing appearance, with its curved gable roof, eaves, and bay windows, is impressive, and the interior also displays a clean and elegant atmosphere. Built during the late Edo period, around the Bunsei era, and renovated in 1879, it is said that the family engaged in a wide range of businesses, including salt production and brewing, in its heyday.
