A huge 16-meter carving commemorating the difficult construction that took 7 years to complete
This commemorative inscription spans 16 meters and is carved into a huge rock to the north of Nagano Hitotsubashi stop on the Taishaku-Iseki Prefectural Highway. To allow carts to pass between the prefecture and Amakawa, difficult construction work was carried out, including crushing and cutting the rocks by hand, digging up the soil, and filling the area. When the work was completed after seven years, it was carved over the course of a month and a half to honor the efforts and pray for the development of the region. The inscription reads "Ama-mi Line Construction Commemoration" in large letters, and on both sides is deeply engraved the inscription of the promoter Shimoebo in 1932.
