A prestigious shrine in the former Jinsekicho
Located in Aido, formerly known as Jinsekicho, it is said that in 1388, a branch of Usa Hachimangu Shrine was enshrined at Otadahara. The main hall is fitted with chidorihafu and kenkarahafu gables, and the large rainbow beams on the outer sanctuary are spectacular. The joinery and carvings are painted in brilliant colors, making this a representative example of distinctive main hall architecture. This main hall has been designated an Important Cultural Property of the town. In addition, a grove of dozens of giant cedar and cypress trees, some over 300 years old, has been preserved on the approach to the shrine connecting the main shrine and Korei Shrine. Shinto dances are dedicated at the autumn festival, and the local performing arts culture is preserved.
