One of the largest aquariums in the Chugoku/Shikoku region, displaying 10,000 sea creatures of about 400 species
The concept is "From the Sea of Shimane to the Sea of Japan, and to the Seas of the World." The first floor mainly exhibits creatures that live in the Sea of Japan. The "Mythical Sea" exhibits the flying fish, the prefectural fish of Shimane Prefecture, which is rare throughout the year, and also displays large sharks and rays that appear in Izumo mythology. On the second floor, there is the "Beluga Performance Pool" where you can see the beluga whale's "Happy Bubble Ring®," which became famous nationwide after being used in a major mobile phone company's commercial, the "Sea Lion and Seal Pool" where you can watch the performances of sea lions and seals, which were renovated and reopened in April 2016, the "Penguin House" where you can view four types of penguins from various angles, and the "Annex Beluga Breeding Pool" where beluga whale breeding and research are carried out. The third floor exhibits various creatures that live in the world's oceans.
