Exhibits the fish and shellfish that inhabit Hiroshima Bay and the Ota River, as well as the life and fishing gear of old fishing villages.
The Hiroshima City Fisheries Promotion Center aims to promote the fishing industry in the Hiroshima City area. It exhibits seafood that inhabits the Seto Inland Sea, particularly Hiroshima Bay and the Ota River, as well as the lifestyle and fishing equipment of old fishing villages. You can also learn about oysters, one of Hiroshima's specialties. The center holds various events every month. On the third Sunday of every month except May, it holds a "Seaside Classroom" for elementary school students in the third to sixth grades who live in Hiroshima City and their parents, providing a place to learn about fishing and fish.
