A monument carved during the occupation that points out the criminality of the atomic bombing and calls for continued action for peace.

Date erected: August 6, 1965 At the time of the bombing, 200 employees were working for 14 insurance companies in the city, of which 89 became victims of the atomic bomb. The Hiroshima All Non-Life Insurance Workers' Union called for donations from colleagues across the country for this monument, and also solicited suggestions for the inscription and shape of the monument. While many monuments built in the immediate post-war period were influenced by occupation policies, the inscription "Why did that day happen? Why does it continue to this day? Let us not forget that hatred, and make this vow" sharply points out the criminality of the atomic bombing and calls for new generations to take action to build a peaceful world, making it a monument of great significance in that sense.
