A-bombed Mobilized Students Memorial Compassionate Mother Kannon Statue

A Kannon statue that enshrines the names of approximately 6,000 students who died in the war and comforts their spirits.

Date of construction: July 31, 1966. At the time, there were 21 old-system junior high schools and girls' schools in the city. This mound contains nameplates with the names of about 4,000 people who died, and a 2-meter-tall Kannon statue stands on top of them. It is estimated that about 6,000 students died in the war, so as soon as their names are known, they will be added to the nameplates.
