The gorgeous romon gate in front is one of the three Iwami gates, and its splendid carvings are a highlight.
The founding date is unknown. It is said that the family was married to the Kuchiba family during the Sengoku period. The tower gate, made by the master craftsman Kiichiro Nagayama in 1848 (Edo period), was left unfinished due to the structure and the gorgeous carvings, such as the parent-child dragon, which violated the law. There are many treasures, including a brilliantly colored wheel storehouse and a giant tarayo tree.
