A huge rock in the shape of a dragon's head at the end of 443 stone steps

Behind the shrine is a huge rock resembling a dragon's head. It is said that the head of the Yamata no Orochi (Eight-headed Serpent) flew off and turned to stone when it was defeated. It is said that this stone shone with eight colors and brought harm, but was defeated by Yatsuka Mizuomi Tsuno-no-Mikoto. It is said that if there is no water in the depression at the top of the Dragon Rock on the festival day (March 3rd of the lunar calendar), a drought will occur. It is also known as a spot to see autumn leaves, and you can see beautiful scenery of maples in the fall.
