The straight street 1.6 kilometers east of the statue of Fumiko installed in front of JR Onomichi Station is collectively called Onomichi Hondori Shopping Street. The Hondori shopping street, which consists of six shopping streets, is lined with nearly 300 stores. It is crowded with many events every month, such as "Saturday night shop" and "Tanabata decoration" in summer, and "Festival Onomichi" in autumn. The "Betcher Festival" at Ichinomiya Shrine near the shopping district is one of the representative festivals in Onomichi.
