Admire important cultural properties related to the Battle of Ishiyama and some of Japan's leading exhibits
This is a half-day sightseeing course at Chozenji Temple, which was founded in the Kamakura period, where you can enjoy vegetarian cuisine, copying sutras, and visiting the Ishiyama Battle Memorial Museum. After receiving the nembutsu from the head priest, you will calm your mind by copying sutras while looking at the beautiful Japanese garden. Copying sutras is a form of meditation. Afterwards, you will visit the Ishiyama Battle Memorial Museum on the temple grounds. The Ishiyama Battle was a battle between the forces of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect and Oda Nobunaga that took place from October 11, 1570 to September 10, 1580. The battle flags used at the time are preserved here. You will enjoy vegetarian cuisine made with seasonal vegetables in the temple kitchen of Chozenji Temple. This is Buddhist cuisine made only with plant-based ingredients. It is a kaiseki meal. This is also suitable for vegans.
