Cherry blossoms found only here in the world, “Myoyoujizakura”

Kanrozan Myoyoji Temple of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism, Tofukuji school. In the temple grounds, there is the Myoyoji cherry tree, an interspecific hybrid of Yamazakura and Higanzakura. The Myoyoji cherry tree, which is found only here in the world, is registered as a prefectural natural monument. Although it is an old tree over 500 years old, it blooms beautifully. During the cherry blossom season, the enchanting lighting at night is also a highlight. Another attraction of Myoyoji Temple is the weeping cherry trees and flowering peach trees blooming on the approach below, which vividly catch the eye from National Route 375, and more and more people are visiting the temple together with this temple every year. After the cherry blossoms, the azaleas are in full bloom all at once.
