Myoji Temple/Myoyoji Cherry Blossoms

Kanrozan Myoyoji Temple of the Tofukuji School of the Rinzai Sect. In the precincts, there is a ``Myoyoji cherry tree'' that is an interspecific hybrid of a wild cherry and a red-bellied cherry, and the precious ``Myoyoji cherry'', which is found only here in the world, is registered as a natural monument of the prefecture. Although it is an old tree that is over 500 years old, it blooms beautifully. During the cherry blossom season, the bewitching illumination at night is also a highlight. Another attraction of Myoyo-ji Temple is the bright weeping cherry blossoms and peach blossoms that bloom along the lower approach, attracting attention from National Route 375, and the number of visitors to this temple is increasing year by year. After the cherry blossoms, the azaleas are at their peak.
