Kanko Bridge is a bridge over the Yawata River, and was completed in November 1937 (Showa 12). National Route 2 (Miyajima Kaido) from Koi to Miyajimaguchi was called the tourist road, hence the name Kanko Bridge. The bridge was hit by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 (Showa 20), 2.56 km from the hypocenter. The passage of time can be felt in the reinforced concrete bridge girders.
