Mr. Takayama was born as the fourth generation of the family to create Hiroshima Buddhist altars, a traditional Hiroshima craft, and creates works that pursue the beauty of Japan while inheriting the traditional lacquer painting techniques honed over generations. Although Hiroshima suffered the atomic bombing, the techniques that have continued since the Edo period have not been interrupted and have been passed down to the present day.
