A place where you can learn about the history of the former Navy and the preciousness of peace
It was the site of the former Navy School, which was a base for training naval officers, and is now the Maritime Self-Defense Force's executive candidate school and the 1st Service School. Some of the facilities are open to the public and you can see historic buildings such as the Auditorium and the Executive Candidate School Government Building (formerly the Navy School Student Hall). In addition, the Naval History Museum stores about 16,000 items such as materials related to the former Navy, of which about 1,000 are on display. In particular, the remains and relics of the Kamikaze corps members strike the hearts of those who see them.
