Saijo Yokkaichi (currently the area east of JR Saijo Station) flourished as a post town on the Saigoku Kaido road during the Edo period, and was the location of the Hiroshima domain's headquarters, known as Ochaya. Later, in the Meiji period, it was used as the Kamo County Office, and then the Kamo Regional Office. The current gate is a restoration of the Omote-miomon gate from that time by Kamozuru Sake Brewery Co., Ltd., and is owned by Kamozuru Sake Brewery. It is located on Saijo Sake Brewery Street, so you can enjoy it along with a tour of the surrounding breweries.
