Take a stroll along the Tsuwano Highway and enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves

Mount Rakan is a round peak with a weather observation dome on the west side of the Saeki area of Hatsukaichi City. The summit, slightly above Yamaguchi Prefecture, is 1,109m above sea level and offers a 360-degree view. The highest point in the Saiki area of Hatsukaichi City is a corner of the broad and lush bamboo grass field, overlooking the mountains of the West Chugoku Mountains and the Seto Inland Sea. The mountain trail on the Hatsukaichi City (Saiki area) side is located at the top of the forest road from the large signboard of the Chugoku Nature Trail along Prefectural Route 119 at the back of Nakamichi. The beautiful broad-leaved forest, mainly oaks, the scenic beauty of the peridotite rocks of Kitsune-ga-jo Castle and Oka-no-ga-jo Castle, and the mountain trails dotted with Jizo statues are excellent mountaineering routes with excellent views and favorable ratings from beginning to end.
