A vast white sand beach where you can enjoy the sunset over the Seto Inland Sea
Sunset Beach, with its 800m long white sand, is a beach sports park that has been certified as one of the 88 best beaches in Japan. Located on Ikuchi Island in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido, it is the middle point of the Shimanami Kaido Cycling Road and has a rental cycle terminal. It's also a good idea to take a break at the Sunset Beach restaurant while cycling. The calm sea in Setouchi and the evening scenery that dyes the gourd island floating offshore in madder red are very beautiful and soothing. Facilities such as shower, campsite, barbecue and sea kayaking are also available so that you can have a good time with your family and friends. In addition, 17 works of contemporary art are installed on Ikuchijima and Takaneshima under the concept of turning the entire island into an art museum. Five works have been set up on Sunset Beach, and works that are both playful and artistic blend into the seascape of Setouchi.
