A vast white sand beach where you can enjoy the sunset over the Seto Inland Sea
Sunset Beach, with its 800m-long white sandy beach, is a seaside sports park that has been certified as one of Japan's 88 best swimming beaches. It is located on Ikuchijima Island, in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido, and is the midpoint of the Shimanami Kaido Cycling Road, where a bicycle rental terminal is also located. It is also recommended to take a break at a restaurant on Sunset Beach during your cycling trip. The calm Seto Inland Sea and the evening scenery of Hyotan Island offshore dyed in crimson are very beautiful and soothing. There are also facilities such as showers, camping sites, barbecues, and sea kayaks, so you can spend a fun time with your family and friends. In addition, 17 contemporary art pieces have been installed on Ikuchijima Island and Takanejima Island, based on the concept of turning the entire island into a museum. Five pieces have been installed on Sunset Beach, and the playful and artistic works blend into the Seto Inland Sea scenery.
