The Kamagari Ancient Earthenware Salt Making Experience Facility is divided into an algae salt making experience facility and an ancient salt making site restoration exhibition hall. The experience of making algae salt takes one and a half to two hours using earthenware and brackish water handmade by members of the algae salt society. The algae salt made by hand salting can be taken home with the earthenware. At the experience facility facing the sea, there may be one salt of algae salt that you made yourself. The adjacent Ancient Salt Remains Restoration Exhibition Hall displays a number of archaeological sites and excavated items from 1,500 (Kofun period) to 1000 (Heian / Kamakura period) that were restored as they were excavated. In addition, you can enjoy the experience of making algae salt even more because the images and pictures explain the ancient salt making in an easy-to-understand manner. If you would like to experience making algae salt, please bring a towel as it uses fire.
