Houmeisyu / Honmi Mirin Brewer

Okamoto Kametaro Main Store is a brewer of Houmeisyu and Hon Mirin. He started his business in the sake industry in 1855, and has been producing Houmeisyu since the Meiji era. Inherit the signboards and tools from the original life-saving liquor store "Nakamura Family". Houmeisyu is a Japanese liqueur that has a history of more than 350 years in Tomo, and is made by soaking 16 kinds of herbs in Tomo. Houmeisyu at the Okamoto Kametaro main store is characterized by a good balance of rich sweetness and herbal aroma that contains a lot of amino acids derived from the in-house brewed real mirin. In recent years, a new flavor of Houmeisyu, which is made by soaking fruits and ginger in Houmeisyu, has also been developed and gained popularity. The building of the directly managed store is a relocation of the Fukuyama Castle Nagayamon, which is the remains of the Fukuyama Castle in the early Edo period, in the Meiji period, and is designated as an important cultural property of the city.
