The 1,600 lights that protect the pears light up magically in the darkness of the summer night.
It is installed to prevent damage from moths that suck pear fruits. Approximately 1,600 moth-proof lights that suddenly appear in the darkness of summer nights have been selected as one of the 87 light landscapes in Hiroshima Prefecture. Moth-proof lights are lit to prevent crop damage by nocturnal pests that suck juice when the fruits are ripe, using their habit of hating bright yellow light and its wavelengths. The lighting period is from the end of July to the end of September.
