Let's camp under a starry sky like a natural planetarium in the dark without artificial lights!
Koita Makiba no Sato is a small, handmade campsite with 11 plots located on the outskirts of a small mountain village on a plateau at an altitude of 780m in the Chugoku Mountains. The campsite is several dozen kilometers away from any large town, and there are no street lights or lights from private homes in the surrounding area. All lights in the facilities on the site are motion sensors, so the only lights in the campsite are from lanterns and bonfires. On nights when you can see the stars, you can enjoy camping under a starry sky where you can see the Milky Way in summer and Orion's hands and head in winter, even from the tent site. The stargazing events held on nights when you can see the starry sky are very popular. Like a planetarium, staff members point out the stars and explain the names of the constellations, the myths surrounding them, and how the Milky Way and shooting stars are seen. Listening to them while gazing at the falling stars in the pitch black sky, you will surely feel that the universe is close to you. The stargazing events held by staff members are held when the sky is full of stars and meets the following conditions: Date: Clear night between 4 days after the full moon and 4 days after the new moon Time: 1.5 to 2 hours after sunset Location: Pasture adjacent to the campsite Duration: Approximately 30 minutes
