The exterior of the Japanese tile hipped roof and brick-colored hexagonal tiles
Located in Irifuneyama Park, surrounded by natural forest, this museum has one basement floor and two aboveground floors. Its exterior, with its Japanese tiled hipped roof and brick-colored hexagonal tiles, blends beautifully with the surrounding greenery. The museum houses 919 works by famous Japanese and international artists, including Bourdelle's Hercules Shooting an Archer and Renoir's Girl with a Straw Hat, and holds exhibitions of its collection three times a year and several special exhibitions. Museum Street, with its beautiful harmony between the red brick tree-lined avenue and 18 sculptures, has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Roads and has also been awarded the Handmade Local Award, making it a popular place for strolling and relaxation.
