Reopening on April 23rd

This museum faithfully recreates the massive battleship Yamato, built in Kure, in 1/10 scale. It also displays actual artifacts such as Zero fighters and Kaiten human torpedoes. The museum introduces the history of Kure, which is synonymous with Japan's modernization since the Meiji era, and the various scientific and technological advancements, including shipbuilding and steelmaking, that formed the foundation of that modernization, while touching upon the efforts of our predecessors and the lifestyle and culture of the time.
