Former Municipal Stadium Site Event Plaza, commonly known as Hiroshima Gate Park

A new bustling place

The site of the former municipal stadium opened as a new bustling base in the center of the city.
Events of various sizes are held throughout the year at the same plaza, which has been reborn as a bustling space. Our goal is to have more than 1 million visitors per year.
Like the municipal stadium that used to be in this location, we aim to become the “face” of Hiroshima that is loved by citizens and that everyone would like to visit.

Peace Promenade

A promenade (walking path) built on a peace axis connecting the Cenotaph and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Yoshino cherry trees are used on both sides, and bombed tram paving stones are used for part of the pavement.

GATE PARK PLAZA

Large-scale events such as food festivals and public participation events such as markets are held. It inherits the shape of the old municipal stadium.

Shori Koi (Shori) Forest Area

It is a place of relaxation where benches from the outfield light stand of the old municipal stadium have been reused. You can admire monuments scattered around the Katsukoi Forest.

Develop a skateboard park

There is an area where you can enjoy urban sports in the same plaza, and there is a skateboard park as part of it. There are also jump platforms that are meant to be used by beginners to intermediates.

Commercial facility

The commercial facility Shimint Hiroshima “SHIMINT HIROSHIMA” was installed on the periphery. Various stores will open in “outdoor environment x stay type” facilities equipped with terraces under eaves, etc.
