In 2024/12, the Simose Art Museum in Otake City received the Versailles Award, the UNESCO “World's Most Beautiful Museum” top prize.
“Seeing art within art.” Based on the concept, the Simose Art Museum, designed by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban, features movable exhibition rooms inspired by islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea.
From the Boyo Terrace, you can enjoy scenery in harmony with nature, such as a colorful movable exhibition room floating in a basin of water and the beauty of the archipelago in the Seto Inland Sea.

Hiroshima Andersen (atomic bombed building)

Hiroshima Andersen is a symbol of the shopping area Hiroshima Hondori shopping district in the center of Hiroshima city.
Due to the renewal in 2020, the design of the atomic bombed building and the fact that it was rebuilt while preserving part of the exterior wall were evaluated, and it was also selected for the “18th Hiroshima Town Development Design Award”.
The original building was built in 1925 as the Hiroshima branch of the Mitsui Bank, and it still retains its profound feeling, and is bustling as a facility that colors the eating habits of Hiroshima residents.

The design was carried out by the architectural design firm “AS,” which handles many buildings both domestically and internationally, such as the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art and Louis Vuitton stores. From the observation deck, which is about 63 meters long and has an impressive curve, the Onomichi Channel and the Shimanami Kaido, this is Onomichi! You can enjoy a panoramic view of such scenery.
