The first forest therapy base certified in Hiroshima prefecture
Aki Ota Town, which is surrounded by the rich nature of the vast Chugoku Mountains, is about an hour by highway from Hiroshima City. It was certified as a forest therapy base for the first time in Hiroshima prefecture in March 2012. Satoyama guides (forest therapists, therapy guides) will prepare the optimal program from among the five therapy roads set in the base according to the participants’ physical strength and wishes.
Fukairiyama Therapy Road

The mountain of the grassland, Mt. Fukairi, is gentle and beautiful, and it is a place where you can heal your heart just by looking at it. It is a course for mountain climbing beginners.
Sandankyo Therapy Road (Kurobuchi Course)

There are two therapy roads in the 13-kilometer-long Sandankyo Gorge, which is designated as a special place of scenic beauty by the country. The Kurobuchi route is full of beautiful valleys, and the scenery that heals your heart just by walking continues.
Sandankyo Therapy Road (Sarutobi Course)
Experience the beauty of water flow and the mystery of the unexplored region
A relatively gentle promenade compared to the Kurobuchi Course. The water quality is good even in Sandankyo, and the riverbed from the clear water is very beautiful, and the beautiful canyon of megaliths and water streams is superb.
Shinarakan Therapy Road
Receive the energy of the prefecture's highest peak, virgin forest
Therapy Road is located at the foot of “Dinarakanzan”, the highest peak in Hiroshima prefecture. In winter, snowy mountain forest therapy using “snow (ski resort)” and various experiences are also possible. Because it is a mountain trail, there are steep slopes and floating stones, etc., but various settings are possible, from courses close to light climbing to gentle courses near the slopes.

Ryuzukyo, which has been selected as one of the top 100 unexplored regions in Japan, is the most gentle course among the five therapy roads and is easy to experience even for beginners. You can take a leisurely stroll while listening to birds and the sound of water.
