Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum

It is an art museum adjacent to Shukkeien, a place of scenic beauty, and has a collection of close to 4800 items such as the Important Cultural Property “Imari Iroe Flower Pattern”, “Itsukushima Zu Byobu”, Aimitsu, and Hirayama Ikuo. Many events such as lectures and concerts are held in conjunction with special exhibitions.

Ueda Soko, known as a tea master, was order to build a garden by the Asano family, the lord of Hiroshima Domain, for its own villa. The park, which is said to have been named “Shukkeien” because it was created in imitation of China's world-famous scenic spot “West Lake,” changes its expression throughout the four seasons and entertains visitors.

Based on the theme of “For Love and Peace,” this museum was built with prayers to the victims of the atomic bomb and wishes for peace. It houses about 300 pieces of Western modern art collections centered on French Impressionists such as Manet, Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh, and Japanese modern art collections, including Japanese Western-style paintings and Japanese paintings.

Orizuru Tower

It is a tower that opened in September 2016 as a place where you can feel not learn about the atomic bomb, but also the richness of Hiroshima, such as reconstruction, hope, and future. From the observation deck on the 13th floor, you can see the beautiful cityscape of Hiroshima, including the Peace Memorial Park, in a large panorama, and on a clear day you can even see Mt. Misen in Miyajima. At Orizuru Square on the 12th floor, you can also have memorable experiences such as the Orizuru Wall, where you can put your own origami cranes into the side of the building.

MAZDA MUSEUM

This is a tour facility located on the premises of Mazda's Hiroshima headquarters. New models and historical materials are on display, as well as racing cars that won The 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The tour of the line where cars are assembled one after another in front of should definitely interest visitors, especially those who like cars! (Reservation is required for the tour)
Kaita-cho “Former Chiba Family Residence”

It is the former residence of the “Chiba family,” which once served as an important post at Kaita no Yado Station, which flourished in the post town of Saigoku Kaido. Today, the main house and tatami building still remain.
You can see wonderful transom sculptures in the tatami room where important people stayed. Also, make sure to have a look at the advanced technical capabilities of the craftsmen at that time. (Reservation is required for the tour)

“Kure Reimen” is a unique type of flat noodles with sweet and sour sauce. It seems that the predecessor owner of “Chinraiken” invented it more than half a century ago as in the summer, ramen would not sell. Irifuneyama Memorial Hall introduces the history of Kure centering on the public opening of tthe Former Official Residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the Kure Naval Station. The walls and ceilings of the Western-style building section of the government building use very beautiful gold traditional paper with patterns of flowers on Japanese paper pasted with metal foil. Workshop to learn how to make this gold paper is hold from time to time.
