The Yokomichi ruins are located on a river terrace overlooking the river Enokawa. The excavation conducted in 1981 revealed a group of bag-shaped pits (grain storage pits) and the remains of pit dwellings from the early Yayoi period (about 2,300 to 2,100 years ago). It turned out to be one of the ruins of an agricultural life. At the site of a stoneware workshop (work) from the early Yayoi period, chert and agate were used as rough stones, and it is noteworthy that there are few similar examples in the prefecture. The excavated relics include earthenware (pots, jars) and stone tools from the early Yayoi period, but the pot-shaped earthenware with the pattern of leaves is rare and valuable in the Chugoku mountains.
