Statue of a mother and child holding a peace trumpet and watching over the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims

Date of construction: August 2, 1977 It was built with donations from school children across the country and with the cooperation of the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the statue was donated by Mr. Katsuzo Entsuba. At this moment, a child in the arms of a young mother is blowing the trumpet of peace, looking over the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims. At the time of the unveiling, the creator, Mr. Entsuba, explained his intention: ``From parents to children, tomorrow is more important than yesterday. The crescent moon will soon become a full moon. We want to sound the trumpet of peace in search of a new future.''
