Somewhere? Genbito “Oops!!” @Hiroshima Station South Exit Underground Plaza Show Window【Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art】

The show window at Hiroshima Station is now an exhibition space for works!

While the museum is closed due to renovation work, the exhibition will be held in the show window of the underground plaza at the south exit of Hiroshima Station. This time, which is the third installment, we will introduce Tou, a writer living in Hiroshima City. Toh creates works based on his interest in things that do not have specific shapes, such as nature and physiological phenomena. In parallel with the production of three-dimensional works that organically represent natural phenomena such as winds and tornadoes, we collected and observed the excrement of organisms created through digestion, and made them into works by 3D scanning and molding. While treating the figures that the artist himself feels beautiful as they are, they are unnaturally enlarged and colorfully colored to remove the material vividness of “things” and change them into abstract forms.
This time, a huge pink relief will appear in the shop window in the basement of the station. When the viewer realizes that the unique irregularities that appear on the surface are formed by the process of passage through the intestines of an organism, the viewer will experience a catabolism of his own perspective with surprise.
